What does the name “Anniki” mean?
Anniki/Anniku/Annaiku are colloquial Tamil expressions derived from “அன்று” (andru) or “அந்த நாள்”(Andha naal), meaning “on that day” or “back then.” It is used in everyday conversations while recalling past moments, memories, or specific events.
We chose the name ‘Anniki’ because it encapsulates how history sounds when it’s not recalled as distant facts, but as moments, stories, and dates that are revisited, discussed, and reinterpreted over time.

How to Play
The core game play is a chronology-based challenge, where each player attempts to place cards with historical events in the correct sequence.
The player who drops all their cards first wins, but beware because history has a way of repeating itself…
With action cards that echo real historical ruptures such as colonial interventions or ecological crises, players can strategise and turn the tables on each other in an instant.
Combining history, strategy, and luck, Anniki is a fun, action-packed game designed to entertain while piecing together a tapestry of Tamil history.
